Resurfacing Your Soft Court

Be sure to order at least one or two tons of material per court. If possible, save money in shipping costs by teaming with nearby clubs or facilities

Clear the surface of loose or dead material. You might consider using it elsewhere in landscaping, or simply rid yourself of it off site.

Apply the new material evenly by the use of a pull spreader. Spreaders are available for rent, or you might borrow a mechanized spreader from your golf facility or a local course. The court should be medium dry for installation.

After application, water the court lightly and roll it to bond the new material with the old. Hand watering might be the best method. The rolling process should alternate between baseline-to- baseline and sideline-to-sideline.

Know the last time the lines of the courts were replaced. Lines of soft courts should be replaced every three to five years, depending on the court's level of play.
