LEE
Fast-Dry Surfacing
LEE Fast-Dry
is the most popular "Fast-Dry" type surfacing in the U.S. We
estimate that our contractors have surfaced over 35,000 courts over the
years, including courts in almost every state and many foreign countries.
The name fast dry is the generic name chosen for the product by the U.S.
Tennis Court and Track Builders and used by the USTA in their book "TENNIS
COURTS". It is described as a Class A-1 type material made of natural
stone, crushed, and sometimes blended with a chemical binder to form a
homogeneous mixture which allows water to filter through the surface. Fast
dry is the surface used in almost every clay court event in the U.S. We
have been making our product, LEE FAST-DRY, for 30 years in our own plants
here in Charlottesville, VA.
New Courts:
If you are considering installing new courts, you simply must
consider LEE Fast-Dry. The quality and enjoyment of the game are greatly
enhanced as the surface gentles the ball on impact, giving the player a
split second longer to reach and return the ball. This allows more rallies
per point, a greater variety of strokes, and creates a more well-rounded
game. This, coupled with the gentle slide, which significantly reduces
injuries, gives you the best possible surface for your new court. Remember
also that you can convert old cracked hard courts to LEE Fast-Dry by building
over existing courts. This can be done with either conventional courts
or using the HydroCourt underground watering system.
Top
Dressing:
LEE Fast-Dry surfacing is also the most widely used material
for top dressing existing fast dry type courts. It is excellent for rejuvenating
courts at the start of the season. This process replaces those vital fine
particles lost during the years through wind and water erosion. If done
properly, this process can extend the life of your court indefinitely.
LEE Fast-Dry is totally compatible with other metabasalt products being
used on fast dry courts and can be used for patching. LEE Fast-Dry can
also be used as a heavy top dressing or in a 1" layer over existing
clay or marl courts to upgrade these courts with most of the advantages
of a fast dry surface.
